TRANSFORMING DENTAL EDUCATION

In 2020, the University of Florida made a bold leap into the future by launching a groundbreaking $70 million public-private partnership with NVIDIA. This ambitious initiative resulted in the construction of the world’s fastest supercomputer dedicated to artificial intelligence in higher education. But it wasn’t just about speed — it was about transformation.
From the outset, UF committed to weaving AI into the fabric of everything it does — education, research and patient care. UFCD was at the forefront, embracing the challenge and opportunity to reshape how dentistry is taught, studied and practiced through the power of AI. UFCD has embraced AI as a catalyst for innovation. Integrated in the dental curriculum, AI is empowering students and residents to sharpen critical thinking, elevate intellectual rigor, and master the digital tools that have reshaped the delivery of patient care.
From designing and manufacturing dental devices and prosthetics to improving early detection of dental diseases with cutting-edge AI tools, UFCD is redefining dental education. The influence of AI continues to expand across the DMD and advanced education curricula — in both didactic and clinical settings — as faculty and staff enthusiastically explore new, creative applications that drive better outcomes for students and patients alike.
