A Culture of Connection and Well-being

Class of 2029 at Lake Wauburg

Our strategic plan affirms that “Our people are our most valuable strength.” This principle defines every facet of our college culture, beginning with the student experience the moment they arrive.

Take the first week for the DMD Class of 2029, for example. Their orientation wasn’t only about disseminating information – it was more about forging a community. Activities like a student-led on panel on “DMD Truths,” a team-building day at Lake Wauburg and the collaborative creation of a class motto build the foundational connections that support our learners throughout their time at UFCD and into their careers.

That focus on building community extends to everyone at the college. In August 2025, the Office of Student Affairs and Involvement launched our inaugural Wellness Week – a vibrant celebration of well-being that brought together faculty, staff, residents and students.

The week’s success was driven by contributions from across the college, with our own faculty and staff members leading sessions like Tai Chi and chair yoga to workshops hosted by external wellness professionals, the week showcased the power of shared purpose and mutual care. Well-being initiatives led by our own people are precisely what builds a healthy, balanced culture.

This is what it means to be an institution of choice: a place where strong interpersonal connections and holistic well-being are not just encouraged – they’re foundational. In this environment, we develop the future leaders of dentistry while setting already successful professionals on a path for continued meaningful impact.
