Objective 1
Strengthen the integration and impact of outreach programs and service-learning experiences to enhance community oral health.
Rationale: Broadening the scope and impact of outreach programs and service-learning experiences is crucial for advancing community oral health. By expanding these initiatives, UFCD can provide more comprehensive care, educate future dental professionals, and foster deeper connections between students, residents and the communities they serve.

a. Expand and integrate comprehensive oral health education and health promotion programs that emphasize support and respect for our communities.
b. Enhance the curriculum with interdisciplinary service learning experiences and training components.
c. Strengthen existing partnerships with community-led organizations, schools and health centers while cultivating new relationships to enhance the reach and effectiveness of services and education.

Expand participation in department, college and university service opportunities to advance academic excellence.
Rationale: As a global leader in dental research, education and patient care, UFCD is dedicated to enhancing our presence in oral healthcare service to strengthen the university and its world-class healthcare system. Through deeper engagement with our academic partners, we will amplify opportunities for engagement of our faculty, staff, residents and students through our commitment to service.

Promote external professional service and leadership to advance academic impact at local, state, regional, national and international levels.
Rationale: Promoting service to professional groups outside of the college and university enhances UFCD visibility and the UF reputation, fosters professional growth, and encourages leadership skill development.
